And here it is (post blend)… Rather than having in a glass, at the moment I like my smoothies in a bowl with some flaked almonds & raw cacao nibs on top. I find that if I blend before I jump in the bath by the time I eat it the linseed naturally thickens the smoothie so it’s a really nice mousse or thick yoghurt-like texture.

I can’t say I bounced out of bed @ 6am this morning but there was a quiet determination about me movements. Finally set off about 6.26… And failed to re-instate my paused Runkeeper. Dontcha just hate that! Shows my internal competitive streak is coming out already. Suffice to say, it was the same route as y’day albeit a little slower (35mins) when I reached the urban gym. Yes I did hang off the monkey bars. A little. Pull-ups & hangings - all v good. But knackered tho. Day off (running) tomo.

Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture but… Post run breakfast : 1 grapefruit, poached eggs on red chard with a little ham & oat cakes. Full till dinner time methinks.

I did it!! First run in 2 months: 4.95k in 32.28. And finished off using the urban gym - pull ups on the monkey bars & tricep dips. I will strengthen my arms so I can swing across them. But all in good time.

I’m a reluctant runner. I think about running everyday. I live in an urban ‘running zone’ in London. After a few false starts this year, it is my aim is to start running with the goal of enjoying it. Today I bought new running strides, a lightweight vest to carry my gubbins (when the weather turns) & an arm pocket. I have the equipment, it’s only the mental block I must crack. The only thing that is stopping me is me.
